The Drawing Process
Creative Practice

Who Are You? You Are You.

Continuous lines, characters, and handwritten mantras bridging fine art, commercial projects, and everyday wonder.

The Philosophy of The Line
“On the back of my bedroom door I used to write WHO ARE YOU. Shortly after waking, it made me question if I was being ME. Eventually that path led to the answer: YAY! YOU ARE YOU.”

Navigating Worlds Through The Ink Line

Using black ink on white surfaces, Martin’s illustrations transform everything from museum walls and ceramics to luxury goods, digital drawings, and faces.

Her work includes solo shows at the MoCADA Museum, installations at the Brooklyn Museum, live drawings at MoMA, the Museum of the Moving Image, and the Bata Shoe Museum. She was a visiting scholar at the MIT Media Lab and adjunct professor at ITP, NYU.
